Kim is a Resident Counselor with a background in education and a passion for supporting children, teens, and families. She uses a psychodynamic-relational approach to create a warm, non-judgmental space. Her clinical focus includes anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, OCD, life transitions, and relationship challenges.

Kim is a Resident in Counseling approved by the Virginia Board of Counseling, currently under the guidance of Carolyn Sinclair, LPC, and Gabrielle Anderson, LMFT/RPT-S as part of her licensure process.


Recognizing the significance of staying updated with the latest clinical research, Kim prioritizes personalized care for her clients and utilizes a range of therapeutic approaches, such as Emotionally Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Child-Centered Play Therapy, and mindfulness techniques. She is dedicated to furthering her expertise and is pursuing certification as a Registered Play Therapist and has completed Level 1 and 2 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, reflecting her commitment to offering comprehensive support to individuals and couples.


For clients approaching counseling from a faith perspective, Kim is committed to honoring and integrating their beliefs into the counseling process, recognizing the inherent dignity and worth that each client brings to the table.


Kim graduated with distinction from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, earning a master’s degree in Clinical Counseling. Additionally, she obtained a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with an Elementary Education Certification, graduating with top honors
