Frequently Asked Questions on Psychiatric and Therapeutic Practices at Riverside Counseling Center

What’s the difference between a therapist and a psychiatrist at Riverside?

Therapists at Riverside provide talk therapy to help with emotional challenges, relationships, and mental health conditions. Our psychiatrists are medical doctors who specialize in diagnosing mental health disorders and can prescribe medication when needed. Many clients benefit from working with both a therapist and a psychiatrist as part of a holistic care plan.

No referral is needed to schedule a psychiatric evaluation at Riverside. Whether you’re experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, or another mental health concern, you can contact us directly to set up an appointment with one of our board-certified psychiatrists. Several of our providers accept insurance, and for those who are out-of-network, we believe you won’t find more compassionate, expert care anywhere in the region.
