decade of experience supporting individuals and families facing a wide range of mental health and substance use challenges. She provides counseling for children, teens, and families, with a warm, collaborative, and person-centered approach.
Arlene’s career spans work in schools, outpatient programs, and residential treatment facilities, giving her extensive experience with issues such as addiction, trauma, depression, anxiety, emotional regulation, and co-occurring mental health concerns. She has served as both a school.counselor and a mental health therapist in dual-diagnosis settings, where she provided crisis intervention, relapse prevention, trauma treatment, and support for serious mental illness.
Her specialized training includes certification as a Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner, National Certified Counselor, and Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor. She is
also certified by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services as a
Qualified Bilingual Staff member.
